The 3rd annual Sturgis North Motorcycle Jamboree and Music Festival, scheduled for the end of August, has been postponed until next year. Officials have said the event was postponed due to time constraints re the new location. The festival has had a difficult time finding a permanent home. In 2011, several thousand motorcyclists attended the first Sturgis North festival in Salmon Arm. It was moved
to the Motoplex Speedway outside Vernon for 2012. This year the festival was to find its new home in Merritt but as posted on the event website, the festival has been postponed until next year.
As motorcyclists ourselves, we are disappointed that the festival will not proceed this year as planned. However, we look forward to 2014 when hopefully the location issues will be sorted out.
